MARCH 31, 2023—In celebration of the National Women’s Month, City College of Angeles-Central Student Council (CCA-CSC) spearheaded “Urduja 2023: Empowering the Braveness of All Women”, a seminar exclusive for biologically-assigned and identified women, at the CCA Admin Hall.

The seminar started with an opening prayer and singing of the national anthem, followed by the opening remarks of CSC Coordinator Denise Mamaradlo where she emphasized the power that every woman holds, “Ang babae ay hindi lámang kundi lamáng.”

Bagani Pampanga Chairperson Ms. Timmy Jane Bacungan and National Federation of Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (NFJPIA) Region 3 Vice President for Academics Ms. Alnia Bautista shared their insights and experiences in empowering women leaders and the importance of Magna Carta for women, respectively.

Bacungan introduced the Bagani Pampanga members who then assisted in their activity “Knowledge - Women - Power". Afterwards, she accentuated the essence of being a woman and challenged them to make a difference and make the world a better place.

“You don't have to compare yourself to others because you are already empowered yourself, but you have to also empower others,” she said.

"You should be socially disturbed, dito lang nakikita na we cared… Kapag tumindig ka, may titindig din para sayo” she added.

The afternoon activities commenced with Bautista enlightening the purpose and objectives of RA 9710 Magna Carta for Women.

Bautista then asked the participants to present project proposals to evoke their ideas on what they can do to help and uplift women in vulnerable sectors.

In her closing remarks delivered through CSC President Gian Mark Tutanes, ICSLIS Secretary and former CSC President Jan Catherine Santiago emphasized the need to continue striving for gender equality and reminded the participants that “every day is an opportunity to celebrate the contributions of women and to strive towards a better future.”
